Couples holiday
Looking for a romantic getaway? Reconnect with that special someone with a relaxing weekend away. Tucked away in the scenic landscape of the Lake District, The Gilpin Hotel and Lake House is the perfect choice for a couples holiday. We recommend The Gilpin’s Spa Lodges for ultimate privacy as each lodge features an en-suite spa, outdoor hot tub and sauna.
Indulge in Michelin starred British cuisine or opt for a more relaxed pan-Asian dining experience without having to leave your hotel. The Mirna Multi Bikini Top paired with the Zulu Tanga Bottom is a must-have for an evening soak in the hot tub with your significant other. You can wear the Mirna bikini top in 3 different ways so there’s no need to bring an extra swimsuit with you!
Family holiday
Sometimes we all need a little break from the everyday stress of family life, especially after lockdown. Now is the best time to get back to nature with a cottage break in the idyllic settings of the Cotswolds. Sandown Cottage in Bruern is a charming home away from home fit for the whole family. There’s no need to worry about keeping the kids entertained as there is a two-storey wendy house, games room and play cabin to choose from.
For the adults, there is a peaceful indoor pool, gym and spa to help you unwind after a long day. A wide range of spa treatments is available from pedicures to deep tissue massages. The Amhara Halter One Piece is a classic, versatile swimsuit to pack with you on your next family break. This swimsuit features a stunning beaded necklace that is also detachable so it can be styled with multiple outfits.
Girls' holiday
There’s nothing better than spending some quality time with your best girlfriends. After lockdown, it’s a great time to swap the group facetime calls for a little well deserved R&R. Located just an hour away from London, the luxurious Ockenden Manor is situated in the picturesque Sussex countryside. Feel like royalty as you peruse the grounds of the manor house, taking in the Elizabethan architecture.
The environmentally friendly spa facilities use natural ingredients in their treatments as well as spring water sourced from the hotel. We recommend the Samburu Tassel Bikini Top with the Samburu Tassel Bikini Bottom to bring with you on a girls holiday as it is comfortable but stylish with the beaded tassel feature. You can also coordinate swimsuits with your besties as all of our styles come in multiple, vibrant tones. What better way is there to catch up with the girls than over a traditional afternoon tea and a relaxing massage.
]]>With winter kicking in in the Northern Hemisphere, some of us will be getting the wanderlust itch and looking for warm destinations to head to to break up the winter months and get some sunshine. Enter: Barbados. Lucky for us, winter is the perfect time to travel to the Caribbean as that's when they get the best weather (read: no hurricanes).
Now that we got the basics out of the way, let's get into some of the top things to do in Barbados! We spoke to our London-dwelling Bajan insiders to find out the top 5 recommendations when visiting Barbados.
1. To stay? Cobblers Cove
Cobblers Cove is the place to stay when in Barbados. A luxury boutique hotel overlooking the gorgeous turquoise ocean, Cobblers Cove offers solitude while simultaneously not being too far from the fun. It was once the privately owned home of a sugar cane farmer and built in the 1940's, but has gained much well-deserved esteem since being converted into a boutique hotel in the 1980's.
2. To dine? The Cliff
Word on the street is that you cannot (repeat, CANNOT) come to Barbados without dining at The Cliff, one of the most renowned spots on the island. This gorgeous spot overlooks the waters which are transparent from the lighting so a stingray may swim by as you dine. According to our transplanted Bajans, it's a great spot for romance too, so it's ideal for a date night.
3. Adventure seekers? Snorkelling and diving!
4. To stroll? Visit Bridgetown
I know, I know, I know. This one seems a bit of an obvious mention, but it's worth it anyway. Bridgetown was named a World Heritage site in 2012 and is a vibrant and bustling town with fun, colourful stores on Broad Street and Swan Street.
There are statues of Nelson and other grand colonial figures sitting in the sun-drenches squares of the town while little rum bars pulse along the lively quays of Bridgetown, vibing with the sounds of tourists and locals.
Maybe I saved the best for last...
Barbados rum is considered to be the smoothest, finest and most delicious in the Caribbean. Bajans have been making rum for 350 years, so a rum tour is a must! With a deed dating back to 1703, the Mouth Gay distillery sits in the North of Barbados in the Parish of St Lucy (the only parish of Barbados 11 parishes to be named after a female patron saint by the way). You'll get to tour the distillery, learn about rum (although MG won't let you in on their secret processes) and get to taste different kinds of rum. In a word, YUM.
I hope I've tickled your tastebuds with Barbados. Keep your eyes peeled for our staycation series to follow, starting with Australia, South Africa and the UK for those who won't be able to get too far OOO.
Love always,
J xx

Welcome to Adriatika!
And welcome to our very first blog post.
We're so excited to meet to you and even more excited to finally share our incredible brand with you. We'll be using our blog to share exciting brand information and more with you; stories and profiles of the incredible team that help make our pieces, we'll chat about sustainability, explore some cool travel destinations, luxury and much more.
(We promise not to clutter your inbox with blog posts though)
As a first post, it would make sense to share our story with you a bit more. In early 2017, our founder, a lover of luxurious yet accessibly priced goodies, realised there was a gap in the market for sustainable and ethical swimwear that was still chic, trendy, unique and beautiful.
But it wasn't just unique and luxurious swimwear we were after. We wanted to give back, to do good for others, to pay it forward as it were. This is why it continues to be so important for us to partner with organizations and enterprises that are ethical and sustainable in their business practices and to make as much of our product sustainable as possible (wait til you realise our packaging is compostable!).
And thus, Adriatika, was born.
Adriatika is a play on the Adriatic Sea (if you haven't swum in it, you should...just remember to take your Adriatika swimmies with you) and was chosen due to our founder's European, specifically Mediterranean, roots. The love for the Adriatic runs deep in our soul, so of course sustainable Econyl fabrics were the only way to go. Our bespoke beading is done by local artisans from an incredible social enterprise in South Africa, Woza Moya, who we will be profiling and talking about right here on the blog. Each accessory is hand beaded and provides a viable income for our artisans.

With Love,
J.
